School:

Approved by the Department of Cudinamarca's Secretary of Education, Fundación Formemos instructs pre-kindergarten and kindergarten through ninth grade children by implementing an agriculturally focused basic education curriculum. Fundación Formemos is further certified to teach technical agricultural and agro-industrial disciplines at the tenth and eleventh grade levels.

Our educational facility has the capacity to provide 240 students with a primary and secondary basic education.

Currently, 240 students are attending Fundación Formemos. Among these students, 107 live in our dormitories and 106 come from surrounding rural areas

• Paper Studio (manufacturing of recycled paper).

• Teaching Methodology:

• Escuela Nueva: Is an innovative instructional model at the primary education level which systematically integrates and implements community focused curricular strategies of student centered training, evaluation, and administration. It is designed to offer a complete primary education and improve the quality of rural schools throughout the country, especially multi-grade institutions.
  
  This methodology essentially promotes an active participatory and cooperative learning strategy. It also simultaneously strengthens the school-community relationship and works to promote a flexible academic advancement program which allows our students to progress from one grade level to another and complete the given curriculum at a self-determined pace.
  
  With the final objective of improving the quality of education, the Escuela Nueva model considers the school as the fundamental unit of societal change. It furthermore promotes the establishment of a complete primary education in schools of sub-standard teaching capacity and, depending on the situation, encourages a focus in the functioning of multi-grade institutions (with one, two, or three instructors teaching various courses).
